What is Imatib (Imatinib) used for?
Imatib (Imatinib) is given as a treatment for certain types of leukemia, such as chronic myeloid leukemia and other cancers of the blood cells. How should I use Imatib (Imatinib)?
Patients should take Imatib (Imatinib) tablets orally, with a meal and a glass of water, exactly as prescribed by their physician. Adults are sometimes prescribed one or two tablets per day, however the dosage required varies for each patient, and you should always consult your physician so that the correct dosage can be prescribed. If you have been prescribed 800mg by your physician, you should take two 400mg tablets instead of eight 100mg tablets, as the tablet coating contains iron, and taking eight 100mg tablets will result in you taking too much iron. Never exceed the dosage prescribed by your physician.
