Mintop Forte (Minoxidil)
What is Mintop Forte (Minoxidil) used for?
Mintop Forte (Minoxidil) is prescribed to treat hair loss caused by male pattern hair loss. The medication encourages follicles to begin producing new hair. It may also cause current hair to grow thicker. Note that this medication is only useful when treating hereditary baldness. Patients with a receding hairline or patchy hair loss will not see an improvement after prolonged use.
How should I use Mintop Forte (Minoxidil)?
Follow your doctor's instructions for using Mintop Forte (Minoxidil). It is typically used twice a day for two to four weeks. To use the medication, wash your hands and the area of application. Be sure the application area is completely dry before appliction. Put a small amount of medication on the area to be treated and gently massage it into the scalp. Allow any excess to air dry. Be sure to wash your hands after each application to prevent the medicine from contacting other areas as this could cause problematic side effects or symptoms. Note that an improvement may not be seen for several months.
You may witness hair loss when beginning to use Mintop Forte. This is not unusual and will be followed by newly grown hair after several months. Once improvement is noted, you may be instructed to lower frequency of application to once every one or two weeks. Some patients may see permanent new hair growth while others will return to their previous condition after ceasing use of the medication.
What are the side effects of Mintop Forte (Minoxidil)?
