How should I use Rectogesic (Glyceryl Trinitrate)?
Rectogesic (Glyceryl Trinitrate) ointment should be inserted directly into the anus using the finger. You may wrap your finger in plastic wrap. Do not use an applicator. Insert a 3/8inch to 5/8inch strip of ointment into the anal canal using the finger. You must insert the ointment at least 3/8 of an inch into the anus. The ointment is normally applied 3 times per day. In order to avoid tolerance, you must ensure that each day you have a 12 hour period in which you do not use this product.
